Nashville’s Housing Fair connects families with homeownership opportunities

Nashville Housing Fair featuring Metro Nashville Mayor Karl DeanNASHVILLE, Tenn. – Current and future homebuyers are invited to attend the third annual Mayor’s Home Ownership Fair to learn about homeownership and the process of purchasing a home in Middle Tennessee.

Mayor Karl Dean today announced the Home Ownership Fair will be held at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday, July 25 from 1-5 p.m. Comprised of informational booths from more than 50 organizations, including real estate agencies, homebuilders, title companies, lenders and non- profits, the fair offers the essential tools to be better prepared for the process of purchasing a home.

“Over the past few years, our homeownership fairs have proven to be successful educational tools for potential homeowners in our city,” said Dean. “The entire community benefits from homeownership. It creates social stability and builds wealth over the long term. With interest rates at historic lows, Realtors will agree this is a great time to purchase a home in Nashville.”

The free, open-to-the-public event includes giveaways to the first 250 attendees and all attendees will be eligible for drawings to win household items and appliances. Among the items to be given away as door prizes are an LG 42” 1080p LCD HDTV with two HDMI inputs, along with three Whirlpool appliances, including a 25.3 cubic-foot side-by-side refrigerator, a 4 cubic-foot washer and a 7 cubic-foot electric dryer. All of these items are being donated by H.H. Gregg.

This year’s Home Ownership Fair is presented in partnership with the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, Tennessee Housing Development Agency, Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity, The Housing Fund, Franklin American Mortgage and The Tennessean.
