JUNE MARKS 9TH CONSECUTIVE MONTH OF INCREASED HOME SALES
2ND Quarter and Mid-Year figures also show increases
There were 2,416 homes sold in the month of June, which is up 15.5 percent over the 2,091 closing reported in June of last year. The second quarter included 6,831 closings, which represents an increase of 24.7 percent over the 5,478 closings during the second quarter of 2009. And, there were 11,023 closings in the first half of this year, which is up 19.3 percent over the mid-year figures for 2009.
The median price of a single-family residence was $181,312 and for a condominium it was $145,000. By comparison, the median price of a single family residence in June of 2009 was $177,700 and for a condominium it was $152,870.
Inventory was down nearly a thousand units to 23,640 compared with 24,552 in June of 2009.
